Matthew 1:23 These make great stocking stuffers, or envelope stuffers, etc. for the Christmas holiday season...and throughout the year. Remind people of the reason that the world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Although we do not know the exact month and year that Jesus was born in Bethelehem, we do know that the calander of the world was reset on that date. The year A.D. 2012 literally means "in the year of our Lord (in Latin, anno domini) 2012" or 2012 years after the birth of the Lord (Jesus Christ). Note of interest...over the past 2000 years, there have been a few mistakes in the calendar...and it is actually about 4 years off (in other words the year 2012 is really about 2016 years after the birth of Christ using a 365 day per year calendar.Jesus came to this earth to die for the sins of all men (so that we would not have to suffer the punishment for our own sins). Jesus rose from the dead, showing God's triumph over death...and Jesus offers eternal life to all those who believe in Him and follow His teachings (e.g. see John 3:16, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38-40, Romans 6:1-23, Galatians 3:26-27, etc.)
